Cash rewards for S’pore athletes: What more can be done to reduce the disparity?

SINGAPORE – When it was announced on Tuesday (Oct 5) that Paralympian swimmer Yip Pin Xiu would be the inaugural recipient of a new President’s Award for Inspiring Achievement, the House burst into applause.

From a child who was often bullied and stared at, to becoming a five-time gold medallist and former Nominated MP, Ms Yip has shown Singaporeans that nothing is impossible.
