E-scooter population in S’pore plunges 91.5% to 8,500

SINGAPORE – At the height of e-scooters’ popularity less than two years ago, retailer Mobot could sell up to a thousand of them each month.

But after personal mobility devices (PMDs), including e-scooters, were banned from footpaths in November 2019, demand for the devices plunged. Now, Mobot’s e-scooter sales are just 5 per cent of what they were previously.
